A storytelling mime came to our school today to teach us about writing stories. First he showed us some of his mime stories and then asked us to write stories for him to act out. We worked in groups in our classrooms and later in the afternoon gathered to see which of our stories he would choose. He picked two stories written by second graders to act out. It was fun to see our stories come to life. We will continue to work on the stories we wrote and publish a few of them.
Two more stories written by second graders are published on the student authors page of the wiki. Aidan and Luke collaborated on a story about Spiderpig, and Evan wrote about the Loch Ness Monster. All Student Author stories are AR books as well.
Other BIG NEWS is that Sean and Madeline got to 100 AR points! We enjoyed doing two one hundred dances today. We also danced for Alec as he reached 500 points. Katherine is not far behind him. Alec and Katherine are working and reading to beat the school’s all time AR record of 600 points (set several years ago……..ready to be broken!)
